Style kits
A style kit is a complete look: a typeface pairing, both colour schemes,
and the layout personality that goes with them. There are 39.
Switching a kit restyles the whole site instantly and touches no content.
Your pages, photographs and posts are not modified.
Switching
WordPress: Meridian → Appearance, or the Customizer for a live preview
against your own photographs.
Meridian Studio: Settings → Appearance. Each kit card has a *See it on your
site* link that shows your real site in that kit before you commit.
The five families
- Light — pale, airy, romantic
- Editorial — structured, monochrome, magazine
- Earth — warm, botanical, sun-faded
- Cool — coastal, slate, marine
- Deep — dark grounds and high drama
Two colour schemes
Each kit defines colour as two independent schemes. Scheme 1 is the ground most
sections sit on. Scheme 2 is the contrasting surface used by dark sections, the
footer and the featured pricing tier.
Because they are independent, a kit can invert — Obsidian runs a bone panel on
a charcoal ground, the reverse of every other kit.
Layout switches
Five switches sit on top of the kit and change independently:
- Header — name left, centred, stacked, or name only
- Spacing — compact, regular, generous
- Image entrance — curtain wipe, rise and fade, fade only, none
- Small labels — uppercase and tracked, sentence case, italic serif
- Side rail — show or hide
Each defaults to Match the kit, so choosing a kit gives you its intended
personality until you decide otherwise.
Your own colours
The Brand settings override the kit wherever you fill them in. Leave a field
empty and the kit's own value is used — which is what keeps kit switching
working. Fill them all in and you have pinned your palette permanently.
