Collections & galleries (Meridian Studio)
A collection is one wedding, one shoot or one trip — the unit photographers
actually think in. Each becomes its own page and feeds the portfolio grid.
Creating one
Portfolio → New collection.
- Choose photographs — the order you click them is the order they appear
- Give it a title and, optionally, a subtitle
- Add an introduction — a short paragraph above the photographs
- Set category, location and shot on
Category drives the filter buttons on the portfolio page. Location and shot-on
appear as small details beside the introduction.
Layout
Four choices per collection:
- Masonry — keeps each photograph's own proportions. The right default for
a mixed portrait-and-landscape edit.
- Grid — even crops, more formal
- Scrolling strip — a horizontal row the visitor controls
- Drifting marquee — slow continuous movement
Cover
Used on the portfolio grid and in social sharing. Left empty, the first
photograph is used.
Featuring
Tick Feature on the home page and the collection appears in any portfolio
block set to featured only. This is how you keep the home page current without
editing it.
Ordering
The Order number controls position in the portfolio grid — lower first.
How many photographs?
Between eight and fifteen for most collections. A gallery of eighty is not
generous, it is exhausting, and the strongest frames get lost. Edit hard.
